Why do we have such high unemployment in SA…
Over the last 20 years or so has there been an increase in demand for recruitment agencies. This due to the fact that all South Africans could apply for jobs I would say and the number of applications to HR departments of companies was extremely high volumes, and they had to make use of recruitment agencies to shortlist the best candidates and I think it had become legislation that when position were advertised , certain processes had to be followed.
Well, this is where the biggest problem for high unemployment in SA came in. Recruitment agencies I believe discriminate due to complicated matrix systems they use. They more likely to take a person that is currently in a job than the one who is unemployed.
They need to deliver quality services to their clients and that’s why they would not care for the unemployed, yet making us believe they will do everything in their power to help the unemployed find a job.
If the government want to combat the high unemployment , they must first start with recruitment agencies. they are the biggest block I believe and needs to be govern by the authorities…make sure they help those that are at home for to long.
We face another challenge in government vacancies. Most of the advertised vacancies already got someone to fill the position even though they publish it in government gazettes, newspapers and jobs online sites. You need to know someone in that particular department that will make a way for you to get in and in most cases will you find that your aunt, brother or cousin already arrange for you to fill that position and it is just they must follow proper procedure otherwise they in breach of the labor law.
Many unemployed citizens really get frustrated and impatient because nothing comes from their on going search for a job after countless applications to agencies you name it.
We have matriculates on a yearly basis that ads to the figure…
